Osman's first month experience in our school / El primer més d'estada de l'Osman a la nostra escola

ENGLISH

My first month in Spain has flown by! It seems like only yesterday I was starting my first day at the school – feeling very excited but also slightly apprehensive.

My time as an English teaching assistant at the San Juan De La Cruz School so far has been extremely gratifying. Despite not have much teaching experience beforehand, particularly with younger children, the teachers at the school have helped me integrate smoothly. This has been extremely beneficial in the long run as I now feel more confident in taking on extra responsibility in the classroom.

As an English teaching assistant, my role is primarily to help the children improve their pronunciation of certain words and to increase their range of vocabulary. I do this through a variety of activities, such as carrying out reading comprehension tasks, using flashcards with younger children and correcting mistakes made in English textbooks. I also take on two extra classes each week focussed on a small group of children, and this involves playing games and completing worksheets with the aim of gradually improving the children’s grasp of the English Language.

I am thoroughly enjoying my time at the school so far. This role has helped me improve my own skills greatly, particularly in areas such as organisation and taking responsibility. I look forward to working further with the teachers at the San Juan De La Cruz School, as well as taking part in more enriching and rewarding experiences!

El meu primer mes a Espanya ha passat volant! Sembla que va ser ahir quan vaig començar el meu primer dia a l'escola i em sentia molt emocionat però també una mica inquiet.

Fins ara el temps que he estat fent de professor auxiliar d'anglès al San Juan de la Cruz ha estat extremadament gratificant. Tot i que no tenia molta experiència docent, sobre tot amb els nens més petits, els mestres i les mestres de l'escola m'han ajudat molt a  integrar-me a poc a poc. Aquest fet, ha estat molt beneficiós per mi, tant que ara em sento més confiat assumint responsabilitats addicionals a l'aula.

Com a assistent d'ensenyament d' anglès, el meu paper és principalment ajudar els nens a millorar la seva pronunciació de certes paraules i augmentar la seva gamma de vocabulari. Ho faig a través d'una varietat d'activitats, com ara la realització de tasques de comprensió de lectura, usant targetes de vocabulari amb els nens més petits i corregir els errors comesos en els llibres de text en anglès. També m'encarrego de dues classes extraescolars cada setmana amb un petit grup de nens. Les classes  es desenvolupa jugant a jocs i completant fitxes amb l'objectiu de millorar gradualment el domini de l'idioma anglès dels nens.

Fins el moment, estic gaudint moltíssim del meu temps a l'escola. Aquest treball ha ajudat a millorar les meves pròpies habilitats en gran mesura, sobre tot en àrees com l'organització i assumir responsabilitats. Espero poder seguir treballant amb els professors del San Juan de la Cruz, així com participar en les experiències més enriquidores i gratificants!
